Case Study
Executive Shift:
Living Office
Through partnership with Herman Miller, Workscapes collaborates with world thought leaders and designers to apply a greater understanding of people; creating work environments that harness natural motivations, therefore compelling us to do our best work. This approach is called “Living Office”.
Customizable to any environment, team, or mode of work, Living Office proposes a shift from standardized workstations and generic meeting rooms to a diverse landscape of purposeful settings. This gives individuals something that can’t be had anywhere else: a deeper connection to work and colleagues; a platform for increased productivity and effectiveness, and a more natural, human experience of interaction and creation.
The Challenge
To launch the new Living Office campaign, Workscapes underwent a full corporate rebrand- and looked to integrate that brand in conjunction with Herman Miller design aesthetics into four new showrooms. These needed new, on-brand creative designed to keep a consistent look and feel, while showcasing Workscapes as a Certified Herman Miller Partner.
How I Helped
In addition to the full package design of their original headquarters/showroom in Orlando, I conceptualized, designed, re-engineered, produced and installed multiple co-branded vignettes, sales spaces, and furniture orientation displays for Herman Miller and Workscapes (The Living Office campaign). Over the course of a year, I rolled out the co-branded displays across three new flagship locations in Tampa, Jacksonville, and Miami- including a complete interior and exterior overhaul of the Workscapes Orlando headquarters.
Concept
As Workscapes shifted focus to integrate Herman Miller design aesthetics, I sat down with brand managers from both companies to sketch out, napkin-draw, brainstorm, and truly do a deep-dive into the desired, overall look and feel for the collaboration that became Living Office.
From there, I took advice from project engineers and architects to make sure the concepts were feasible in the desired spaces- all while maintaining visual consistency for both re-brands throughout.
Design
Using concepts from both the original Herman Miller theme: “Thrive”, and the latest shift into its co-branded theme with Workscapes: “Living Office”, I created scaled designs and mockups for all of Workscapes’ flagship showrooms.
I proposed a combination of materials, substrates, structural elements, vinyls, and paints to create a consistent look and feel through each space, maintained constant communication through design revisions, and collaborated with architects and contractors to integrate those final designs into the overall building plans.
Production
Everything is customized with Herman Miller and Workscapes. It’s what makes them stand out in the marketplace- and the production of their showroom branding elements is no different.
Keeping that in mind, my main responsibility in the production process is maintaining quality control and branding consistency across multiple locations. From dimensional LED letters, vignette displays, and acrylics, to custom glass shadowboxes, paint finishes and full wall vinyls, I handled every detail of the production process for Workscapes: soup-to-nuts.
Installation
The final stage of the process, the installation, is my favorite. It is truly rewarding to see the client’s reaction when the designs and concepts come to life in grand scale, and makes me so proud to have been a part.
Including vendor selection, schedule creation and timing, trouble-shooting/adaptation, collaboration with on-site contractors, and constant client communication, I managed every aspect of the Living Office campaign installations in multiple showrooms for Herman Miller and Workscapes.

Living Office wasn’t the only large-scale branding project for Workscapes. For more than a decade I’ve been upgrading all of their showrooms to stay on track with the latest industry and design trends.
